How we use Facebook (www.facebook.com/beethovenpianos):
We allow fans to “like” our page, which will gives our business more visibility. We also post updates about our business and the piano industry, our musician friends, concerts we attend, and we send them as messages to all of our fans and we create targeted messages and send them to customers.
How we use YouTube (www.youtube.com/beethovenpianos):
We view YouTube as a rare opportunity to showcase the region’s most promising young pianists, up close and personal. Many of the featured musicians on the Beethoven Pianos channel offer top-notch performances, soloists and ensembles. The Beethoven Pianos YouTube video channel is a chance to hear the best local musicians on piano.
How we use Twitter (www.twitter.com/beethovenpianos):
While we are a high volume twitter publisher, we try to add value, here’s how:
1) As a ‘shared feed’ reader. We’ll post up links of what we are reading that we find is interesting in near real time, and give some commentary. We try to add value here, rather than adding to noise. So use us as a news filter about pianos. We try to announce all the important concerts and piano gigs occurring in the New York City area.
2) As a chat room. We collectively work out problems, issues, and we gain insight to other people’s viewpoints. Often when conversations are just between a few folks, we shift to direct messages or email –sparing our community from hearing our minutia.
3) Event capture: Lately, when we attend an event (like a concert around the corner at Carnagie Hall) we’ll fire off the top nuggets from our experience.
4) Listening tool: It’s interesting to find out what others are sharing and talking about, from very personal to big concepts. we frequently use the search tools around different topics to keep on top of what’s happening.
5) Traffic driving tool: we use it to direct people to this website, sometimes (we’ll admit) a bit too enthusiastically. We will try to watch that. Google Analytics indicates this is one of the largest referrers of folks to our online Virtual Catalog.
Join us in the conversation.
