The Concept
Finally
- a piano created without compromise toincorporate the best of both the
acoustic and digital worlds. Our hand crafted acoustic piano, built
with the finest traditional materials, allows you, by applying the
middle pedal, to prevent the hammers from hitting the strings; whilst
its built in state of the art sound generator will digitally reproduce
your performance and transmit it to you through stereo headphones. This
will allow you to confidently practice in total privacy, without fear
of disturbing either the neighbours, the rest of the family or a fellow
student; whilst the two headphone sockets will allow your teacher,
friend or parent to listen in when required, or to play aduet with you.
The Touch
Our Silent piano registers every detail of your playing in its digital
mode. It incorporates the most sophisticated optical fibre grey scale
sensor system yet developed, which
continuously measures eachkey separately without interfering with the
feel of the keyboard. Our precision engineered real piano action gives
you a sensitivity of touch and a control to your performance that is
unequalled by any standard digital piano..
The Sound
The AWM stereo piano voice is based on a new
sampling of a full concert grand piano from the
world’s leading grand piano manufacturer. The
upgraded 30MB wave memory gives a more
natural piano sound. This voice offers a broad
range of expression from a delicate pianissimo to
an intense fortissimo and reproduces the
expansive feeling produced by the reverberation
of the strings when you use the damper pedal. In
addition to the piano sound, there are 9 other
voices, each with a variation.
Performance and Recording Whether
in acoustic or digital mode you will enjoy a great performance. With
our latest version you are actually able to record and playback your
performance, and store your recordings onto a USB memory stick. The
acoustic piano offers you an instrument with its unique and beautiful
sound, whilst in digital mode you have a multi-voiced and a very
flexible instrument with an excellent piano sound. In digital mode you
can adjust the brilliance from mellow to bright, and you can adjust the
reverb to provide you with a selection of venues for your performance,
ranging from a room up to achoice of two concert halls and a stage,
thus avoiding the 'dead' feel so common with electronic instruments.
The DDE (Dynamic Damper Effect) can recreate the subtle resonances that
occur when you depress the damper pedal on an acoustic piano. You can
play 2 voices together (e.g. piano and choir). Where as, if you wish to
givea live performance you can play it all through your own Hi-Fi
system via the Aux Out..
The MIDI
The MIDI In/Out facility allows you, whether in the acoustic or digital
mode to perform with other MIDI compatible instruments for a full range
of sound, or to link up to a PC.

midnight or Gershwin at dawn, our Silent Series
