NEWS JULY 2008 Beethoven Pianos to Represent the New Hailun Pianos in New York City
Beethoven Pianos was chosen because the 35 year old piano dealership exceeded company founder Hailun Chen's requirements for regulation, showcasing, marketing, selling, moving and servicing these wonderful new pianos from China. “We are so pleased at this partnership opportunity with Hailun," said Carl Demler, owner of Beethoven Pianos. "We will take great pride in offering these superb pianos which are becoming the piano of choice for anyone who has played one.” Hailun is based in China and operates a 431,000-square-foot manufacturing facility staffed by 800 workers in Ningbo, and is currently in the process of expanding the facility by an additional 108,000 square feet to meet market demand for their products. Since 2001, the Hailun company has invested heavily in Japanese digital equipment and production lines. In this year, co-operation founded between Hailun and Wendl & Lung, a Viennese family of master craftsmen since 1910 now in its fourth generation with Peter Veletzky. According to company president Hailun Chen, "By combining the most modern and precise methods of production and tradition with an insistence in quality and excellence, we are producing instruments that is second to none, even compared to many considerably more expensive and well known instruments." Hailun also invited the talents of well-known American piano designer George F. Emerson, Viennese piano tuning and voicing specialist Zlatkouic Sibin, and Japanese piano specialist Ema Shigeru to monitor and assist in the long term quality and artistic production of Hailun pianos. Due to the efforts of the Hailun Company, the high-tech numerically controlled production has been successfully merged with the artistic and revolutionary assembly processes of the world renowned European piano tradition. The upright and grand pianos made by the Hailun Company have received praise from international circles. It is clear that this Chinese-made piano has entered into the mainstream market with the quality of the instruments matching and possibly exceeding American & European standards.
